App refers to the SP Buses mobile application (formerly known as SP RPTA – SP BUSES).

You refers to the individual using the App.
We / Us / Our refers to the Southern Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority (SP RPTA) and the developer, ALDTAN IT.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

2.1 Location Data (GPS)

Used only to help you find nearby buses and bus halts

SP Buses uses your device’s location only while the App is open and actively in use (foreground) to provide helpful, real-time transport features, including:

Showing your current location on the map
Allowing you to search for buses near your location
Displaying the nearest available bus and the nearest bus halt (bus stop)
Providing map-based directions to help you reach the nearest bus halt easily

Your location is used strictly for this feature only, to improve accuracy and make public transport easier to access.

Your privacy is protected:

We do not collect, store, save, or track your location data
We do not use location data in the background
Location information is used temporarily and in real time only
Once the App is closed, location access stops immediately

Your location data is never stored on our servers, never shared, and never used for analytics or profiling.

2.2 Camera and Media Access

Used only for submitting complaints

The App may request access to your camera and media files solely for the Complaint Management System, allowing you to:

Capture photos or upload existing images/documents
Attach evidence when submitting complaints related to bus services, vehicle conditions, or driver behavior

We do not scan, monitor, or access your media files for any other purpose.

2.3 Usage and Diagnostic Data

Used to keep the App stable and reliable

To ensure smooth performance, the App may collect limited technical information such as:

Device type and operating system
Anonymous crash logs and diagnostics

This data helps us identify issues and improve app stability. It does not identify you personally.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information only for legitimate service-related purposes, including:

Operating and maintaining the SP Buses App
Processing and reviewing user-submitted complaints
Improving public passenger transport services in the Southern Province
Enhancing map accuracy and overall user experience

We do not sell, rent, or misuse your personal information.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 Legal Obligations

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests from authorized government or judicial authorities.

4.2 Third-Party Services

SP Buses uses trusted third-party services to provide essential functionality:

Google Maps API – map display, navigation, and location services
Expo Application Services (EAS) – app updates and distribution

These services receive only the minimum data required to perform their functions and are restricted from using it for any other purpose.

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, please note that no digital system can guarantee complete security.

6. Children’s Privacy

SP Buses is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
